Tsuzawa Yotaka Andon Festival

During this festival, paper-covered lanterns, 7 meters tall and 12 meters long, and brightly painted with images of warriors, will be pulled throughout the city of Tsuzawa. The climax of the festival is the purposeful collision of of these “andon” lanterns, during the “Kenka Yotaka Andon” event. Two lanterns will be violently crashed into one another in an exciting scene as one attempts to break the other.
