Johana Hikiyama Festival Floats Museum (Nanto City)

This building features a permanent display of the magnificent hikiyama and iori-yatai floats used in the Johana Hikiyama Matsuri festival, which was inscribed on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2016. The exhibit is accompanied by sorrowful iori-uta music, and the lighting switches to provide a virtual experience of the festival at night. Nationally-designated Important Intangible Folk Cultural Asset.

Takaoka Mikurumayama Museum (Takaoka City)

At the Takaoka Mikurumayama Museum, a base for strolls through Takaoka, allows visitors at any time of the year to enjoy the Takaoka Mikurumayama Festival, a Nationally-designated Important Intangible and Intangible Folk Cultural Asset inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2016. Museum visitors can learn about the history of the festival through a variety of exhibits.

Himi Seaside Botanical Garden (Himi City)

Located on the “Matsudae Beach” with its white sand and green pines – depicted in the 8th century Man’yoshū collection of poems – the garden consists mainly of tropical and subtropical plants. There is also a restaurant with a 360˚ panoramic view.

Himi Ban-ya gai(Himi City)

This market consists of a number of eating places offering foods that can only be savored locally, including conveyor-belt sushi with fish directly from Himi Fishing Port, Himi udon noodles, Himi beef and Himi curry. There are also fish shops with fresh fish caught locally, elaborate processed foods and many other seafood delights from Toyama Bay.
