A market with a history of over 1,000 years, where fish, marine products, vegetables and souvenirs are sold. The women of Wajima are hard-working, and they play the leading role at the morning market, both as vendors and buyers. It is also fun chatting with the women and bargaining the prices.

Wajima Kiriko Art Museum (Wajima City)

A kiriko is a lantern that lights up the area below a mikoshi portable shrine. At this museum, visitors can experience up close the Noto Kiriko Festival, a Japan Heritage event. There are some 30 kiriko of all sizes in the museum, displayed in a lively festival atmosphere.

Shiroyone Senmaida (Wajima City)

The view of over 1,000 terraced paddy fields on the slopes leading down to the ocean changes from season to season and even from hour to hour. Designated a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage site, the terraces are a symbol of "Noto's Land & Sea".

Cosmo Isle Hakui Space Science Museum (Hakui City)

A space science museum where visitors can see up close space capsules that have traveled to space and re-entered the atmosphere, as well as many original articles built for space development. There is also a wealth of documents on UFOs, bringing visitors into close contact with the mysteries of the universe.

Chirihama Nagisa Driveway(Chirihama Rest Area)(Hakui City)

This is the only place in Japan where automobiles can be driven on the beach. Enjoy this 8-kilometer stretch along the water’s edge, the sea breeze against your face. The drive is particularly impressive at sunset.

Wakura Onsen (Nanao City)

Located in the center of Noto Peninsula, Wakura Onsen faces the peaceful waters of Nanao Bay. Opened some 1,200 years ago, Wakura is one of the best known hot springs in the Hokuriku region. It is the foremost “marine hot springs” in Hokuriku, whose source is located under the ocean floor. There are 21 ryokan inns of various sizes along the coast where meals made with fresh seasonal ingredients can be enjoyed throughout the year.
